Firefight is a World War II real-time simulation game with more AI and attention to detail than any other game in its genre to date. Tanks are modeled with a physics engine and have gears, tachometers and swim trunks, and orient themselves with brake levers to give them the tracked vehicle movement looking realistic. Each bullet, shell or shrapnel is modeled in 3D and realistically bounces off inclined surfaces. You can see each infantryman’s rating, name, weapon, remaining ammunition, heart rate and fatigue levels. Machine gunners will ask for ammo when they are running low limbs and other squads will run more with spare ammo, if they are carrying any. Injured men call for doctors who will rush over to administer first aid. Off-board artillery can be called, but you will have to fire multiple shots that go before the full 8 gun battery opens simultaneously.
